Technical & Community Roadmap
Our development team is comprised of community members volunteering their time to execute
this roadmap. Ideas are shared openly among the community and strategy is determined through
consensus of the development team.
2018 Goals:
Q1:
- On-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services
- Implementing NewYorkCoin wallet updates
- Updating newyorkc-qt wallet code to remove unnecessary alert systems
- Removing errant code lines which inadvertently trigger anti-virus alarms
- Auditing current NewYorkCoin source code
Q2:
- Continue to on-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services
- Updating NewYorkCoin source code to introduce SegWit and future support for the Lightning Network
- Performing NewYorkCoin blockchain threat analysis
- Implementing patches to improve resistance to 51% attacks (such as Advanced Checkpointing)
- Building a newyorkcj or comparable bitcoinj library to achieve the following:
- Multiplatform mobile and desktop wallets
- BitTeller® ATMs at various NewYorkCoin community merchants’ locations
Q3:
- Continue to on-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services
- Partner with existing and future altcoin merchant payment solutions to ease
NewYorkCoin adoption friction
- Constructing a NewYorkCoin inflation-reduction plan in order to balance the need to
maintain zero or near-zero transaction fees while adequately incentivizing miners to solve
blocks on the NewYorkCoin blockchain
Q4:
- Continue to on-board domestic and foreign merchants to accept NewYorkCoin for goods and services
- Implementing the inflation reduction plan after receiving network consensus
- Exploring atomic swap on-chain capabilities on the main network
